Discover a Yachting Odyssey Across Greece’s Timeless Archipelagos

Discover Greece: The Ultimate Island-Hopping Yacht Charter

Cruise Opal Superyachts through Greece’s sparkling Aegean and Ionian waters, where over 6,000 islands punctuate 13,000 kilometres of coastline. Whitewashed villages perch on cliffs, secluded coves invite swimming, and ancient ruins rise from the sea, blending history with natural beauty. From vibrant harbors in Mykonos and Rhodes to the quiet solitude of Folegandros and Astypalea, every anchorage tells a story of culture and discovery.

Anchor above Santorini’s volcanic cliffs and swim in crystalline waters, wander narrow streets lined with bougainvillea, or explore archaeological sites overlooking the sea. Glide to Hydra or Spetses, kayak through hidden bays, and savor fresh seafood paired with local wines. Greece is a living canvas where Venetian fortresses, Byzantine churches, and turquoise bays coexist, offering a yacht charter experience that combines luxury, adventure, and Mediterranean splendor.

What are the must-see destinations in Greece?

Cyclades Islands (Aegean Sea)

The Ionian Islands are a lush, green contrast to the Cyclades, offering calm waters, sheltered anchorages, and Venetian charm. Corfu’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, Lefkada boasts striking beaches like Porto Katsiki, Kefalonia surprises with Myrtos Beach and Melissani Cave, and Zakynthos dazzles with Navagio (Shipwreck Beach) and opportunities to spot Caretta-Caretta turtles.

What’s the weather like in Greece?

Peak Season (June–August): Expect higher temperatures, increased tourist activity, and elevated charter rates. While the Meltemi winds provide exhilarating sailing, they can be challenging for less experienced sailors.

Shoulder Months (May & October): Enjoy milder temperatures, reduced crowds, and more favorable sailing conditions. These months are ideal for those seeking a balance between good weather and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Autumn Sailing: September and early October offer warm sea temperatures and diminishing Meltemi winds, providing excellent conditions for leisurely cruising and exploration.

Regional wind patterns shape the sailing experience. In the Aegean Sea, the Meltemi winds blow from mid-May to mid-September, bringing strong, dry north winds that can reach 25 knots in the afternoon, favored by experienced sailors.

In the Ionian Sea, the Maestral breezes typically begin in the morning and strengthen by afternoon, offering cool, steady conditions ideal for leisurely cruising. Occasionally, the Lodos, a southwesterly wind, may affect either sea, bringing higher seas and squalls, especially during transitional weather periods.
